Grand Ayatollah Shirazi Sends Condolences over the Passing of Grand Ayatollah Qomi

Following the sad departure of the Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Taqi Tabatabei Qomi, may he rest in peace, the Grand Jurist Ayatollah Shirazi sent a message and expressed his condolences. Parts of this condolence message reads as follows:

In the name of God, the Mercy giving, the Merciful

We are from God, and to Him we shall return.

The demise of the Islamic Jurist, Grand Ayatollah Haji Sayyid Taqi Tabatabei Qomi, may God elevate his ranks, was a big blow to Islam and the sacred Islamic Seminaries.

His noble father, the late Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Husayn Qomi was one of the first people who rose to protect the Islamic values such as Hijab and the legacies of Imam Husayn, peace be upon him, in Iran; while any resistance against the Iranian ruling regime was answered with execution and torture. This great Islamic jurist and his family were finally exiled due to their firm stances.

After that disturbed age, his noble father made a historic return to Iran and revived the Islamic values of Hijab and the ceremonials of Imam Husayn, peace be upon him. The return of this great scholar, along with many other scholars, including my father brought back freedom to the Iranians. I, personally, offer my heartfelt condolences for the passing of this great scholar to our awaited Imam Mahdi, may he reappear soon, the sacred Islamic Seminaries, and the respectful family of this great scholar. I pray to God to have this great man by the side of his noble ancestors, the holy Prophet of Islam and his pure Household.
